Company basics

Set up your basic settings – the foundation for efficient day-to-day work.

The company basics form the foundation for many processes in your company. This is where you store key information that is automatically used in price estimations, documents and production processes.

Note

Important: Only users with the Admin role can change these settings.

This is how you access these settings:

Click your personal profile in the top right corner of the window.

Select " Settings".

Click "Company basics" in the menu bar.

Available settings

Store your payment information, VAT rates, cutting optimisation settings, as well as invoice defaults in one central place and reuse them throughout your projects.

Surcharge groups

This feature is part of the Production add-on for Borm Go. Add the add-on to your subscription to use surcharge groups and create work orders.

Store recurring allowances centrally and use them automatically in all your projects. This ensures that cutting dimensions are calculated consistently and reliably without you having to enter the values again for every component.

Working with the table

In the surcharge table, you can define the allowances to be considered when calculating the cutting dimensions of different materials. The calculation is always based on the finished dimensions of the component. When creating components for a work order, these allowances can be applied automatically via the relevant manufacturing process. The finished and cutting dimensions are then listed in the associated bill of materials.

Select a row with the material type to which you want to add allowances.

Check how the material is used in the respective column: as a base material, edge or cover.

Click to edit all fields in a row.

Now fill in the columns you need. The table is formatted in millimetres. Regular allowances are entered as positive values. However, it is also possible to enter negative values.

Then click the blue "Save changes" button.

Using the table values in a bill of materials

As explained in more detail in the documentation on work orders, you can select your surcharge table as the manufacturing process when creating a bill of materials. Your table values will then be used to calculate the cutting dimensions of the materials from the finished dimensions of a component.

Note

If you change the values in the surcharge table, your previously created components will keep their original allowances. The new values are used for every component you add from now on.

If you change the manufacturing process of a component afterwards, check the length, width and thickness allowances again.

The following example shows how the allowances in the table affect the cutting dimensions stored in the bill of materials:

You want to fit a chipboard panel with solid wood edges around, with the top and bottom edges running through, and then cover the panel with veneer. The finished dimensions are 500 x 700 mm. In the surcharge table, you enter the following:

Surcharge tableLength (mm)Width (mm)Thickness (mm)
Solid wood as edge102not specified¹
Veneer as cover1020not specified

¹ It is best to enter the thickness of the solid wood edge directly in the "Thickness" field when creating the component. In this example, it is 5 mm.

These dimensions will then appear in your bill of materials:
